Each Harper Malone gown is tailored with precision to create a flawless fit that’s both elegant and comfortable. For a custom fit that feels uniquely yours, we guide you through essential measurements. You can take these yourself or have a local tailor assist for extra accuracy.

How to Measure Yourself for Your Custom Harper Malone Dress
Before You Begin:
Wear undergarments similar to those you plan to wear with your wedding dress. Use a soft measuring tape, a mirror, and, if possible, have a friend assist you. Stand naturally with relaxed posture, as this will yield the most accurate results.
Waist
Bend to one side to locate your natural waistline (usually the smallest part of your torso, just above the belly button). Measure around this spot comfortably.
Hips
Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips, typically 7–9 inches below the waist. This helps achieve a smooth and flattering fit.
Bust
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level and snug but not tight. This measurement should include the full width of your chest and back.
Shoulder to Waist
Measure from the top of your shoulder, beside the base of your neck, down to your natural waistline. This is crucial for aligning the bodice perfectly with your torso and ensuring a well-proportioned silhouette.
Hollow to Hem
Place the tape measure at the hollow of your neck (the dip between your collarbones) and measure straight down to your desired hemline. Be sure to wear the heels you plan to wear with the dress or include the heel height in the measurement to ensure your dress falls perfectly.
Waist to Hem
From your natural waistline, measure down to the desired hemline. Wear your intended heels or include the heel height in this measurement to ensure your dress length is accurate for your final look, whether it’s floor-length, tea-length, or another style.

Shoulder Width
Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder across to the other. This measurement ensures the dress aligns naturally with your shoulders.
Armhole
Wrap the tape around the armhole, from the top of the shoulder, under the armpit, and back up. This ensures comfortable movement, especially in sleeved gowns.
Arm Height
Measure from your shoulder down to the bend of your elbow. This measurement is particularly useful for sleeve designs that require specific arm movement.
Arm Length
Starting from the shoulder, measure down to your wrist. This measurement is essential for ensuring the right length for long sleeves.
